England vs Sri Lanka 25 Match, World Cup 2023: England and Sri Lanka faced each other in a crucial match of the 2023 Cricket World Cup on Thursday, with both teams needing a win to keep their hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive.

Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl first and they got off to a great start, dismissing England’s top four batsmen cheaply. Apart from Ben Stokes (43) and Jonny Bairstow (30), no batsman batted.
And the England team was all out for 156 runs in 32.2 overs.

For Sri Lanka, Lahiru Kumara took 3 wickets, Kasun Rajitha and Angelo Mathews took 2 wickets each and Mahesh Theekshana took one wicket.

In reply, Sri Lanka got off to a slow start but Pathum Nissanka and Sadira Samarawickrama took control of the chase with a 137-run partnership for the third wicket. And Sri Lanka won by eight wickets with 146 balls remaining.

Lahiru Kumara was adjudged player of the match for taking 3 wickets for 35 runs.
